Overview
Thomas Spelmans is a 1st year Ph.D. student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Program studying under Dr. Sharon Weiss. His research interests are in the field of photonics, specifically nanophotonics, photonic crystal cavities, and integrated quantum photonics. His current research focuses on the design and optimization of photonic crystal nanobeam cavities for enhanced light matter interactions and their integration with single-photon emitters.
As a NanoGuide, Thomas hopes to make science more accessible to the general public and help introduce people of all ages and backgrounds to the exciting possibilities of science and engineering.
